I am excited to be entering the field of journalism right in the middle of such a historical change. The industry is in the midst of a total reinvention of itself creating a new era in the way we get, gather and deliver the news.
I feel that by getting my degree and getting my feet wet now that I am not only learning the skills of traditional journalism but also learning the ropes of new media. This in turn gives me a better understanding and a leg up as a journalist. Journalists today have been given many different avenues to reach mass audiences almost instantaneously all while being able to deliver information in creative and multiple ways.
